Back in 2014, I took a trip to Colorado with a friend who was already in the
cannabis business. We knew the classics: Skunk, OG Kush, and that good old-school piff. I was just getting started, trying to figure out my next move, and I needed a plan. He was the one person I knew who could help me understand the industry.
I thought we’d need to tour a whole bunch of farms to really see what was out there. Instead, we visited just one, and that visit gave me plenty to take in.
It was a farmhouse trippyterpsfarm.com, with people available to answer questions, a website representative, and a budtender to walk us through the different varieties. Seeing so many strains in one place made me realize how much I still had to learn beyond the names I already knew.
Colorado’s legal adult-use
cannabis sales had started that January, so we were there during a big turning point for the industry.
The funniest part
came when I asked how to stay in touch. They handed me a flyer and pointed to the website address. I honestly didn’t even realize it was a website at first. A whole online presence, and I was standing there with a paper trippyterpsfarm dot com, never knew it was a website, still trying to catch up. Lol.
I went out there thinking I needed a whole tour. What I
came home with was a new perspective, a better understanding of the business, and a memory that still makes me smile.
Man, those were the days.
